Earlier this week we shared a report originating from the Wall Street Journal about Activision Blizzard. The newspaper criticized the company’s CEO, Bobby Kotick due to him not reporting sexual misconduct cases to the board. Today, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan spoke up and criticized Activision Blizzard’s passive behavior.
After the events and allegations, Activision’s board announced that they are still in trust with the CEO. In addition, company did not take any significant action against the allegations or to prevent them from happening again in the future. It seems like this did not only anger the public but also individuals in significant positions.
PlayStation’s boss reportedly sent a letter to company staff expressing a “deep concern” regarding the Activision Blizzard situation. In the e-mail, PlayStation boss wrote that he is,
“disheartened and frankly stunned to read [that Activision] has not done enough to address a deep-seated culture of discrimination and harassment.”
There seems to be no end in the horizon for the Activision Blizzard situation for the time being. Even the company’s partners in business, such as PlayStation, does not believe that the statements company made are enough to address the situation.
We will keep you updated if there are any more developments regarding the situation.
