Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord has a lot of managing, governing and diplomacy options in native versions. Therefore, especially after some point in the game, the player is not enough to handle every decision. So, what you will need is a companion who can help you with fighting and ruling as well. Here is our guide to how to find companions.
First of all, we should note that the game is in early access right now. This means that some things we mention in this guide may or may not change in the future. We will try our best to keep our guides updated according to the state the game is in. If you want to check the game’s version, you can go to the official website.
Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord: How to recruit a companion
Finding a companion is not as hard as you think, but if you are a beginner, the game does not teach you how. Veteran Mount and Blade players should not have any difficulties with this at all, we assume. The first thing you need to do is making sure that your party size is big enough to have one more person. If you are not sure how to do this, you can check our party size guide here.
When you are sure that you can have one more person in your party, you need to find a city. Cities are different from villages and castles in a lot of ways, but most importantly for companions, they have taverns. When you arrive at a city, just pick the tavern area option to see who’s in there.
The rest is up to you, listen to the story of the NPC and decide whether you want them to be with you or not. Be careful to pick good companions, as they will fight alongside you and at some point rule for you.
