Earlier today Microsoft announced that they are pulling the launch date back for Halo Infinite to today. Although this was a decision only affecting the multiplayer mode of the long-awaited game, players are happy. We can make this observation fairly easily by looking at the game’s player count on Steam.
The game got more than 100,000 players on Steam in just under an hour. Thus, turning Microsoft’s decision to release the multiplayer mode of the game early a big success. It is also quite fascinating to state that the game attracted more than 272,000 players in its first night. To be clear, that is more than a quarter of a million.
We also have to state that these are “concurrent player numbers.” Therefore, they demonstrate players playing the game at the same time, total number is way much bigger. Also, it is important to say that these player numbers represent only the players who play the game on Steam.
The free-to-play shooter’s success’ scale is currently unknown as Microsoft is yet to announce official numbers. We expect that the game broke some records, at least for this month. We will keep you updated if there are new developments regarding Halo Infinite.
