Crysis Remastered will release September 18th, 2020

The remaster's PC, Xbox One and PS4 editions are closer than we thought

Crytek announced that Crysis Remastered will release on 18th September 2020. The game is coming for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.

The release date of Crysis Remastered has become a controversy lately. In detail, the leaks in Microsoft Store first gathered a backlash then made Crytek postpone the Remastered Edition. However, it seems Crytek and Saber Interactive solved whatever problems were on the surface and got the game back on track. Conversely, we now have a locked-in release date in our calendar.

The remastered edition of the game will be available as a digital release via the Epic Games Store, the PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store for USD 29.99/EUR 29.99. Conversely, it appears that Crytek decided to apply a pricing policy that is quite reasonable. The studio also reported the technologies on the Remastered Edition. In particular, high-quality textures up to 8K, HDR support, temporal anti-aliasing, Screen Space Directional Occlusion (SSDO), Global Illumination (SVOGI), state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, parallax occlusion mapping, Screen Space Reflections and Shadows (SSR & SSS) will be available.

Furthermore, on PC the game will support NVIDIA® DLSS technology. Also, hardware-based ray tracing using NVIDIA’s VKRay Vulkan extension, for NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX GPU. On the other hand, Crytek has implemented Ray Tracing for the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro editions. Therefore, we’ll be able to see how Cryengine works with such technology.
